Introduction：

Doripenem is a new carbapenem antibiotic with broad antibacterial spectrum. It is stable with most of β- lactamase, including penicillin, cephalosporins and extended-spectrum enzyme β- lactamases (ESBLs) It is stable with human dehydropeptidase (DHP-1). In vivo it can’t be hydrolyzed by DHP-1 and can be used alone. It has strong antibacterial activity on anaerobic or aerobic Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Overal, antibacterial activity of Doripenem is equivalent to Imipenem, Mopenem and Etapenem. However, its activity was significantly stronger than Meropenem on Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and penicillin-resistant Streptococcus pneumoniae.
